The Workday Architect is responsible for end‑to‑end technical solution design and ownership across the Workday platform, with a strong emphasis on integrations, scalability, and long‑term maintainability. This role serves as the technical authority for Workday delivery, guiding developers, influencing design decisions, and ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
Own end‑to‑end solution architecture for Workday integrations and technical components. Lead technical discovery, requirement clarification, and design workshops.
Define integration patterns, data flows, error handling, and security models.
Produce and own functional and technical design documents.
Ensure solutions are scalable, reusable, and aligned with Workday best practices.
Act as the technical lead across multiple work packets or scrum teams.
Guide and mentor senior developers; review designs and code for quality and alignment. Contribute as an individual contributor when required (e.g., complex integrations, spikes, POCs). Partner closely with Product Owners, BAs, QA, and Release Management. Support SIT/UAT troubleshooting and production readiness. Required Skills & Experience
Workday Expertise
8–10+ years of Workday experience with deep integration expertise.
Strong hands‑on experience with:
Workday Studio
EIBs
Core Connectors
Workday APIs / REST / SOAP
Experience integrating Workday with multiple upstream/downstream enterprise systems.
Ability to influence teams and stakeholders through technical leadership.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Experience working in Agile / SAFe delivery models.
Comfortable supporting multiple scrum teams and concurrent initiatives.
Experience working with onshore/offshore delivery models.
