Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Tableau Administrator with strong AWS expertise to manage, optimize, and support enterprise Tableau environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of Tableau Server administration, platform governance, security, performance optimization, and cloud infrastructure management within AWS. This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure platform stability, enhance user experience, and drive continuous improvement initiatives through automation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, maintain, and optimize Tableau Server environments.
- Manage Tableau platform upgrades, patches, migrations, and performance tuning activities.
- Configure and maintain security, user access controls, permissions, and governance policies.
- Support Tableau Desktop users and provide troubleshooting for platform-related issues.
- Manage Tableau deployments hosted on AWS infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Implement monitoring, automation, and operational efficiency improvements across the Tableau ecosystem.
- Collaborate with business users, data teams, and stakeholders to support reporting and analytics requirements.
- Maintain platform documentation, operational procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure platform availability, disaster recovery readiness, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Evaluate and adopt new Tableau capabilities and feature releases to enhance platform effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of overall IT experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Tableau Administrator.
- Strong expertise in Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop administration.
- 2+ years of experience working with AWS cloud services, including:
- EC2
- S3
- RDS
- Experience implementing automation, scripting, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Strong understanding of security, access management, governance, and platform administration.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and maintain platform stability.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
- Ability to adapt quickly to evolving technologies and product enhancements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Tableau AI capabilities and modern analytics platform features.
- Familiarity with SQL and relational database technologies.
- Knowledge of data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience leveraging automation and AI-driven operational capabilities.
- Tableau and AWS certifications.
- Experience working in fast-paced enterprise environments supporting large user communities.
Preferred Certifications
- Tableau Certified Professional or Tableau Certified Associate
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
- Other relevant Tableau or AWS certifications
