Position :: Senior Database Developer — 45$hr —
Location: New York Hybrid
Job Summary:
This role is for an experienced SQL and ETL database developer supporting the FA Registration Team. The team owns platforms that support Financial Advisor registration data, registration validations, compliance-driven controls, and field reporting capabilities.
The team’s objective is to modernize legacy mainframe processes onto a distributed platform, enable adoption across downstream applications, and incorporate evolving compliance requirements across the FA Registration ecosystem.
The candidate will serve as a developer on the team with responsibilities including:
• Translating business needs into clear technical specifications
• Developing scalable T-SQL stored procedures and database components
• Working in a process-oriented delivery model and adhering to enterprise development standards
• Partnering with business, QA, infrastructure, and application teams to deliver controlled changes and production support
• Centralizing and streamlining production requests
• Working on database design to improve data access, performance, and maintainability
• Supporting batch workflows across ingestion, validation, reconciliation, monitoring, exception management, and downstream delivery
• Leveraging approved AI-assisted engineering tools, including GitHub Copilot and Claude, to improve productivity, analysis, documentation, and delivery quality
Primary Skills / Must Have:
• 6–8 years of experience developing batch processes using T-SQL and ETL tools such as Informatica
• Strong SQL Server development experience, including stored procedures and database components
• Strong database design and data-modeling skills
• Hands-on experience with Informatica and enterprise ETL processes
• Experience supporting enterprise batch processing, including scheduling, dependencies, file-based feeds, exception handling, reconciliation, and production support
• Strong data analysis and data quality assessment capabilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across time zones
• Strong SDLC discipline with a track record of improving operational efficiency
• Experience delivering in Agile Scrum models, including planning, backlog refinement, estimation, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and Jira execution
• Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude for development, troubleshooting, unit-test support, documentation, and productivity improvement
• Ability to follow change management practices that support consistent, maintainable release.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
• Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
