Role: SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting Consultant

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Relevant Experience

(in Yrs)  8+ years of relevant SAP Finance and Controlling experience, including hands-on SAP S/4HANA Controlling implementation, rollout, enhancement, support, product costing, cost object controlling, and management accounting process delivery.

 

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills  

Core SAP S/4HANA Controlling Expertise

Strong hands-on experience in SAP Controlling covering cost center accounting, cost element accounting, internal orders, profit center accounting, allocations, planning, budgeting, settlement, and period-end closing.

Deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling architecture including Universal Journal, integrated FI-CO postings, management accounting reporting, and real-time margin visibility.

Expertise in product costing, standard cost estimate, cost object controlling, variance analysis, work in process, results analysis, settlement, material ledger, and actual costing.

Strong configuration experience in controlling area, operating concern, cost centers, activity types, statistical key figures, assessment, distribution, allocation cycles, internal orders, settlement profiles, and profitability segments.

S/4HANA, Fiori and Reporting Capabilities Experience working with SAP S/4HANA Finance, SAP Fiori applications, embedded analytics, CDS-based reporting, margin analysis, profitability analysis, and management reporting dashboards.

Ability to validate solution design against SAP standard best practices and recommend fit-to-standard controlling and management accounting processes wherever applicable.

Exposure to SAP Activate methodology, fit-gap workshops, sprint-based delivery, testing cycles, cutover support, month-end close readiness, and hypercare stabilization.

Integration and Technical Awareness

Strong integration knowledge across CO with FI, MM, SD, PP, PS, EWM, TM, asset accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury-related finance processes.

Experience preparing functional specifications for RICEFW objects including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, workflows, allocations, planning templates, and reporting extracts.

Knowledge of cost flows from procurement, production, inventory, sales, projects, and financial postings into controlling objects and profitability reporting.

Documentation, Testing and Support

Ability to prepare business process design documents, configuration rationale, test scripts, training material, cutover task lists, month-end close checklists, and support handover documents.

Experience in unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, defect triage, month-end close issue resolution, and production support.

Experience Required      8+ years of SAP Finance and Controlling experience

4+ years of SAP S/4HANA Controlling

Strong hands-on experience in product costing, cost object controlling, standard cost estimate, variance analysis, work in process, settlement, material ledger, and actual costing Minimum 2 end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation, rollout, migration, or major enhancement projects preferred

 

Roles & Responsibilities             

Lead requirement gathering, fit-to-standard workshops, management accounting process design, and solution validation for SAP S/4HANA Controlling processes.

Configure and support core CO processes including cost center accounting, internal orders, profit center accounting, cost allocations, planning, budgeting, settlement, and period-end closing.

Design product costing, standard cost estimate, costing variant, cost component structure, overhead calculation, cost object controlling, variance analysis, work in process, settlement, material ledger, and actual costing processes.

Implementation and Delivery Responsibilities Prepare functional design documents, configuration documents, process flows, test scripts, training material, cutover inputs, month-end close checklists, and support handover documentation.

Work with FI, MM, SD, PP, PS, EWM, TM, ABAP, integration, data migration, basis, security, and reporting teams to deliver integrated cost flows and management reporting requirements.

Support master data and migration activities for cost centers, profit centers, activity types, cost elements, internal orders, statistical key figures, allocation cycles, product cost master data, and profitability characteristics.

 

Testing, Cutover and Support

Execute unit testing, system integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, close cycle validation, product costing validation, defect analysis, and business sign-off support.

Support cutover planning, mock cutover cycles, opening balance validation, master data readiness, costing run readiness, month-end close readiness, go-live, hypercare, and production stabilization.

Stakeholder and Governance Responsibilities Collaborate with finance controllers, business process owners, project managers, manufacturing teams, sales teams, procurement teams, and cross-module stakeholders to ensure solution alignment and timely delivery.

Provide status updates, risk inputs, issue resolution support, financial control readiness inputs, and knowledge transfer to support and business teams.
