Release Train Engineer (RTE) to support a large-scale enterprise technology transformation program. This role will play a critical part in coordinating release planning and execution across more than 90 software engineering teams involved in a major WebLogic modernization initiative.
Working closely with Program Managers, vendor Project Managers, Product Owners, and technical stakeholders, you will drive integrated release management activities across multiple parallel workstreams, ensuring alignment, transparency, and successful delivery of key program milestones.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring deep experience managing large-scale technical upgrade programs and coordinating complex dependencies across multiple product lines.
What You’ll Do
• Lead coordinated release planning activities across 90+ software development teams participating in a major WebLogic migration program.
• Manage multiple concurrent delivery workstreams, dependencies, risks, and milestones across product lines and vendor teams.
• Partner with Program Managers, Project Managers, Product stakeholders, and engineering teams to develop and maintain integrated release plans.
• Facilitate cross-team planning, readiness reviews, dependency management, and release governance activities.
• Drive transparency through reporting, tracking, escalation management, and proactive resolution of delivery risks.
What We’re Looking For
• Proven experience as a Release Train Engineer supporting large-scale enterprise technology transformation programs.
• Demonstrated success coordinating complex release planning activities across numerous software engineering teams.
• Strong technical background with the ability to understand infrastructure, middleware, application, and platform dependencies.
• Experience partnering with Program Managers and delivery leadership to achieve successful program outcomes.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, and organizational skills.
Bonus Points For
• Experience supporting WebLogic migration, modernization, or large-scale middleware upgrade initiatives.
• Knowledge of SAFe frameworks and enterprise Agile delivery practices.
• Experience managing releases across multiple vendors and distributed delivery teams.
• Familiarity with enterprise release management tooling and reporting platforms.
• AI prompting skills and experience leveraging AI tools to improve delivery planning, coordination, or reporting.
