Looking for SQL Server DBA C2c requirement

Location: Oakland, CA/ Remote

Duration: 8+ months

 

Descriptions:

 

•      Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments.

•       Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, and stored procedures.

•       Create automated data comparison scripts for our large on-prem SQL database, ensuring these scripts can be executed easily by anyone. The output should also be provided in a consumable format, such as Excel.

•       Manage database backup, restore, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.

•       Implement and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions such as Always on Availability Groups, Log Shipping, Replication, and Clustering.

•       Troubleshoot database issues, blocking, deadlocks, and performance bottlenecks.

•       Perform capacity planning, database health checks, and proactive monitoring.

•       Ensure database security, user access management, encryption, and compliance standards.

•       Automate routine DBA activities using PowerShell, T-SQL, SQL Agent Jobs, and scripting.

•       Support production deployments, patching, and release activities.

•       Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and application support teams.

•       Maintain database documentation, standards, and operational procedures.

•       Participate in on-call production support activities when required.

•       Collaborate closely with our QA, DEV, and business teams. “

 

Education: At least a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related field is required.
