Location: Columbia, SC (100% Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months Contract (Strong Possibility of Extension)
Start Date: Immediate

Position Overview

CLIENT  is seeking an experienced and PMP-certified Project Manager to support its Security and Technology Services (STS) Project Management Office (PMO). This position has been created to assist with the growing portfolio of ongoing and future technology initiatives, ensuring projects remain on track, compliant, and aligned with agency objectives.

The selected consultant will manage multiple infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, networking, and application-focused projects within a highly secure enterprise environment. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder communication, project governance, change management, and compliance experience.



 

Location Requirements

  • Candidate must currently reside in South Carolina, North Carolina, or Georgia.
  • Must be within commuting distance of Columbia, SC.
  • No relocation assistance available.
  • Position is fully onsite for the duration of the contract.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Manage multiple IT projects involving infrastructure, networking, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, resource allocations, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure successful project delivery within scope, budget, and timeline requirements.
  • Coordinate activities across technical teams, vendors, stakeholders, and leadership.

PMO Governance & Methodology

  • Follow and enforce the Agency's Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Project Management Approach.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, status reports, governance artifacts, training materials, policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Facilitate project meetings, steering committee reviews, and executive status reporting.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, vendors, and contractors.
  • Manage project communications, expectations, issue resolution, and escalation processes.
  • Coordinate knowledge transfer and transition activities for operational support teams.

Financial & Risk Management

  • Track project budgets, resource utilization, contractor hours, and overall project costs.
  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies, issues, and change requests.
  • Provide regular reporting on project financials, milestones, accomplishments, and risks.

Compliance & Security

  • Lead projects in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including:
    • PCI DSS
    • IRS Publication 1075 (PUB1075)
    • NIST Security Frameworks
  • Support information security initiatives and ensure compliance throughout project lifecycles.

 

Required Qualifications

Experience

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant IT experience.

Certification

  • Active PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification required and must be verifiable through PMI.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing Government or Public Sector IT projects.
  • Information Security or Cybersecurity project experience.
  • Business Analyst and/or Quality Analyst background.
  • Vendor management and third-party coordination experience.
  • Experience creating project metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting.
  • Industry certifications related to project management, cybersecurity, or information technology.

Technical Environment

Experience with the following technologies is highly preferred:
