Role Description
The PostgreSQL Developer / Database Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise-scale PostgreSQL database solutions. The role requires expertise in database architecture, performance tuning, high availability, data integration, cloud database platforms, and database security.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Design and maintain scalable PostgreSQL database solutions.
ā¢ Develop logical and physical data models, including normalization, denormalization, and partitioning strategies.
ā¢ Develop and optimize complex SQL and PL/pgSQL code.
ā¢ Analyze execution plans and troubleshoot database performance issues.
ā¢ Implement indexing strategies and database performance tuning.
ā¢ Design and support high availability, replication, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
ā¢ Administer and monitor PostgreSQL environments using standard PostgreSQL tools.
ā¢ Support data quality, governance, metadata management, and data lineage initiatives.
ā¢ Develop and support ETL/ELT processes, CDC solutions, and event-driven data pipelines.
ā¢ Integrate PostgreSQL with applications, APIs, and microservices.
ā¢ Support cloud-hosted PostgreSQL environments and infrastructure automation.
ā¢ Implement database security, auditing, encryption, and compliance controls.
