- The Mainframe Solution Architect is responsible for translating business requirements into technical solutions for complex applications that are implemented on IBM Mainframe, but also including integrations with other platforms.
- They work directly with Application Architects and MF development teams to implement those solutions and assist in delivering them into production.
- They are responsible for communicating Architecture and Enterprise standards and best-practices and ensuring they are reflected in the MF applications and integrations.
- The Architect is proficient in the COBOL programing language, DB2 SQL and zOS. They have an understanding of basic Enterprise Design Patterns and how to apply them.
- They provide technical leadership across teams and play a key role in transitioning MF workloads to other platforms such as Kubernetes, and as part of a larger Digital Transformation and Modernization effort.
