Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer with deep Angular expertise and strong working knowledge of Java and Spring Boot. You will help enhance the search and availability experiences across a major airline’s customer-facing website and supporting APIs. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with a genuine passion for technology—someone who explores code and emerging tools beyond assigned tasks and understands the principles behind the technologies they use. You should be comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with product, business, engineering, and vendor stakeholders.
Required:
- Advanced, hands-on experience developing modern applications with Angular.
- Experience with Angular 17 or newer; Angular 20 experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience developing backend services using Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and techniques.
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs; GraphQL experience is beneficial.
- Experience writing automated tests using tools such as Playwright, JUnit, and Postman.
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with GitHub or comparable source-control platforms.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-based application environments.
- Ability to optimize solutions for performance, resiliency, and reliability while maintaining simplicity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate through documentation, code, and technical diagrams.
- Experience working in Agile environments using Scrum or Kanban.
Preferred:
- Experience with high-volume consumer websites, search platforms, or availability systems.
- Demonstrated success delivering integrations across multiple engineering teams.
- Experience leading data-mapping and interface-design activities.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or IBM cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
- A strong personal interest in software development, including experimentation with technologies, personal projects, open-source contributions, or other hands-on technical exploration.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and document high-quality software components, interfaces, APIs, scripts, and processes.
- Build and enhance customer-facing search and availability functionality using Angular and Java.
- Develop reusable components and libraries that can support multiple teams and product areas.
- Deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions for large production environments.
- Collaborate with product, business, engineering, and vendor stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Deliver system interfaces across multiple teams and resolve complex integration issues.
- Participate in data-mapping activities to ensure consistent and reliable data exchange.
- Conduct root-cause analyses, identify systemic issues, and lead corrective actions.
- Anticipate scalability, latency, resiliency, and durability challenges and implement practical mitigation strategies.
- Identify and reduce technical debt while supporting new product initiatives.
- Incorporate security-conscious engineering practices throughout the software-development lifecycle.
- Optimize system designs so teams can deliver small, safe, incremental releases.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate duplicate effort and create reusable solutions.
- Coach junior engineers and promote strong technical craftsmanship.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and develop prototypes when appropriate.
- You will bring a systems-thinking mindset and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions while proactively addressing technical debt, integration complexity, performance, resiliency, and reliability.
