Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Java Lead Engineer to join our development team in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of high-performance, scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in Java/Spring Boot and AWS environments with cutting-edge engineering methodologies, specifically Specification-Driven Development (SDD) and AI-assisted Software Development Life Cycles (AI SDLC).

Key Responsibilities:
• Technical Leadership: Lead the development team in building robust, scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Architecture & Cloud: Architect and deploy secure cloud-native applications on AWS, utilizing Amazon Aurora SQL DB for optimized data storage and retrieval.
• Modern SDLC Execution: Implement and advocate for Specification-Driven Development (SDD) workflows to ensure clear API/system design prior to coding.
• AI Integration: Leverage and integrate AI SDLC tools and methodologies into the daily development lifecycle to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, product managers, and business analysts to translate complex requirements into technical realities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Core Java & Frameworks: 8+ years of hands-on experience in advanced Java and Spring Boot microservices architecture.
• Cloud & Data: Proven experience with AWS Cloud environments and strong proficiency with relational databases, specifically Amazon Aurora SQL DB.
• Methodology Mastery:
• Explicit exposure and practical experience with AI SDLC frameworks and tools.
• Direct familiarity and experience working within a Spec-Driven Development (SDD) model.
• Location: Must be based locally in the Raleigh, NC area.

Preferred Plusses:
• Industry Domain: Prior experience working within the Banking / Financial Services domain.
• Advanced SDD: Advanced expertise mapping out system integrations using strict specification protocols.
