Job Description
As a Senior Java Developer AWS Migration you will design enhance migrate and support businesscritical Java applications as they move from onpremises infrastructure to AWS The role combines handson application development with cloud architecture and migration execution You will collaborate frequently with developers testers product managers infrastructure security and operations teams to ensure migrated services are secure resilient performant supportable and production ready
Essential duties and responsibilities
Analyze existing Java applications middleware interfaces databases batch jobs and infrastructure dependencies and define migrationmodernization approaches
Design and implement Java services and APIs using modern Java and Spring technologies with a focus on modularity testability performance and cloudnative operation
Refactor or replatform applications for AWS using containers managed services eventdriven patterns or serverless approaches where appropriate
Build and operate REST APIs microservices asynchronous integrations messagingstreaming flows and scheduledbatch workloads
Migrate application configuration secrets certificates database connectivity file handling and integrations from onpremises patterns to AWSnative or cloudappropriate patterns
Implement automated unit integration regression performance and deployment testing support production cutover and postmigration stabilization
Continuously evaluate and improve application performance availability security posture logging monitoring and cost efficiency
Review code and cloud designs mentor developers and help establish reusable migration and engineering patterns
Follow software development processes architecture standards secure coding practices change controls and release governance
Candidate MustHave Skills
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field or equivalent professional experience
8 years of professional software development experience including 5 years of strong Java development experience in enterprise production systems
Strong handson Java 11 experience Java 1721 strongly preferred
Deep experience with Spring Boot Spring Framework RESTful services dependency injection data access exception handling security and automated testing
Strong knowledge of objectoriented design design patterns concurrency memoryperformance considerations and production troubleshooting

Strong experience building microservices and distributed systems practical understanding of synchronous vs asynchronous integration patterns
Handson experience with Maven or Gradle Gitbased source control code reviews build automation and CICD
Strong SQL and relational database experience ability to analyze query performance transactions connection pooling and database migration impacts
Extensive and deep AWS experience meeting all requirements in Section 4 including direct onpremisestoAWS migration delivery
Strong written and verbal communication skills ability to produce technical design documents migration runbooks estimates and implementation plans
Ability to work independently and as part of a crossfunctional team in a controlled enterprisebanking environment
NicetoHave Skills
Handson experience with ECSFargate andor EKS Docker Kubernetes and container migration patterns
Experience with Kafka Amazon MSK SQSSNS EventBridge or other enterprise messagingevent streaming platforms
Experience with AWS DMSSCT RDSAurora migrations schema modernization and largedata cutover strategies
Experience with RedisElastiCache OpenSearch DynamoDB S3 event patterns Step Functions or Lambda
Prior experience delivering technology solutions within Capital Markets or Investment Banking is strongly preferred particularly experience supporting trading securities Equities Fixed Income or fronttoback processing environments
Experience with Jira Confluence GitHub and approved AIassisted software development tools
