Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Project Manager to lead a high-priority Operations IT initiative focused on modernizing a legacy system and developing a new enterprise solution with AI-assisted development practices. The project involves replacing or modernizing an existing Ingres and OpenROAD environment and requires coordination across business, technology, operations, security, data, infrastructure, and vendor teams.
The ideal candidate is a delivery-focused project manager with strong experience managing complex IT transformation initiatives, cross-functional teams, risks, dependencies, and executive-level communication in fast-paced or mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end planning, execution, tracking, and delivery of critical IT modernization projects.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and status reports.
Coordinate cross-functional teams across Operations, IT, Application Development, Data, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Compliance, Change Management, and Business.
Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, decision reviews, and executive updates.
Drive accountability and ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
Partner with technical leads and SMEs to translate business requirements into actionable delivery plans.
Coordinate legacy system discovery and modernization planning, including dependencies, integrations, business rules, risks, and transition requirements.
Support responsible use of AI-assisted development tools, including governance, testing, validation, documentation, and delivery controls.
Identify risks and blockers early and develop practical mitigation strategies.
Ensure implementation readiness, documentation, handoffs, and post-production support planning.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of Project Management experience leading complex IT, application delivery, operations technology, or enterprise transformation projects.
Proven experience managing cross-functional business and technical teams.
Strong knowledge of scope, schedule, risk, issue, dependency, and stakeholder management.
Experience delivering projects in mission-critical, operationally sensitive, or fast-paced environments.
Excellent communication skills with technical teams, business stakeholders, executives, vendors, and end users.
Strong meeting facilitation, documentation, follow-up, and decision-tracking skills.
Experience with AI-assisted tools, automation, analytics, data-driven practices, or modern software delivery.
Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, Smartsheet, Planner, Teams, SharePoint, or similar project management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with legacy application modernization, replacement, migration, or re-platforming.
Experience with Ingres, OpenROAD, or similar legacy technologies.
Experience in Operations, Utility, Energy, Critical Infrastructure, Regulated, or High-Availability environments.
PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, SAFe, or similar certification.
Experience managing vendors, system integrators, consultants, or third-party technology partners.
Experience with change management, training, user adoption, operational readiness, and production support transition.
Experience supporting AI-assisted development, automation, analytics, or data integration initiatives.
