Job Summary
· We are seeking an experienced Azure Fabric Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize our next-generation data platform.
· In this role, you will leverage Microsoft Azure Fabric to integrate disparate data sources, establish robust data pipelines, and enable high-performance analytics.
· You will work closely with cross-functional teams onsite in Novi, MI, to transition legacy data architectures into a unified, scalable SaaS data ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
· Architecture & Implementation: Design and deploy end-to-end data analytics solutions within the Microsoft Azure Fabric ecosystem, utilizing OneLake as the single source of truth.
· Pipeline Development: Build, optimize, and maintain scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Fabric Data Factory (Dataflows Gen2 and Data Pipelines).
· Data Lake House Management: Implement and manage Fabric Lakehouses and Warehouses, utilizing Delta Lake formats and V-Order optimization for high-performance querying.
· Transformation & Modeling: Write complex PySpark, SQL, and DAX scripts to clean, transform, and model data for downstream business intelligence applications.
· Direct Lake Integration: Collaborate with BI teams to configure Direct Lake mode in Power BI, ensuring real-time semantic model updates without data duplication.
· Governance & Security: Implement data governance, data lineage, and role-based security (Row-Level Security/Column-Level Security) within workspace capacities.
· Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize Fabric capacity utilization (CU) to ensure cost-efficiency and high performance across workloads.
Required Qualifications & Skills
· Core Experience: 3+ years of dedicated data engineering experience with Microsoft Azure, including hands-on experience architectural deployment in Azure Fabric.
· Ecosystem Proficiency: Deep understanding of Fabric workloads: Synapse Data Engineering, Synapse Data Science, Synapse Data Warehouse, and Power BI.
· Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in SQL and Python/PySpark for data manipulation and engineering tasks.
· Legacy Azure Stack: Strong foundational knowledge of Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks for migration context.
· Data Modeling: Solid understanding of dimensional modeling concepts (Star and Snowflake schemas).
· Soft Skills: Excellent collaborative and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively on-site with local business stakeholders and engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
· Microsoft Certification: Certified Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Cosmos DB Developer Specialty.
· Experience migrating legacy on-premise or cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, SQL Server) into Azure Fabric
