About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Android Developer with strong experience in Kotlin and Android SDK development to join our engineering team in New York. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications and SDK components that deliver exceptional user experiences and support scalable mobile solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin.
- Build and enhance Android SDKs, libraries, and reusable components.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver new features and improvements.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Implement clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following Android best practices.
- Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues across multiple Android devices and OS versions.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Ensure application security, data protection, and compliance with industry standards.
- Stay up to date with the latest Android development trends, tools, and technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3+ years of professional Android development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
- Hands-on experience with Android SDK development and publishing reusable libraries/SDKs.
- Solid understanding of Android architecture components and design patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.).
- Experience with Android Jetpack libraries.
- Proficiency with REST APIs, JSON parsing, and networking frameworks.
- Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Jetpack Compose.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
- Experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Hilt or Dagger.
- Familiarity with mobile performance optimization and monitoring tools.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
