Role Summary:
Technical Leadership
– Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade Android applications and mobile platform initiatives.
– Define and enforce Android architecture standards, coding guidelines, and development best practices.
– Drive technical decision-making for mobile solutions, ensuring scalability, maintainability, security, and performance.
– Conduct architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical feasibility assessments for new features and initiatives.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
– Mentor and guide Android developers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical coaching.
– Support team members in resolving complex technical challenges and improving engineering practices.
– Promote a culture of quality, innovation, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.
Modern Android Development
– Drive adoption of modern Android technologies including Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, Hilt, and Android Architecture Components.
– Establish reusable frameworks, shared libraries, and common components to improve development efficiency.
– Ensure compliance with Android platform guidelines, accessibility standards, and mobile security best practices.
Security & Compliance
– Lead implementation of secure mobile payment solutions, tokenization strategies, authentication mechanisms, and PCI-compliant payment flows.
– Ensure adherence to Android security best practices, including secure storage, encryption, certificate pinning, biometric authentication, and device integrity validation.
Delivery & DevOps
– Collaborate with Product Owners, UX teams, Architects, Backend teams, and Business Stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. – Drive CI/CD adoption, automated testing strategies, release management, and Play Store deployment processes.
– Monitor application health through analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, and observability tools.
Stakeholder Management
– Act as the primary technical point of contact for Android-related discussions with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
– Participate in sprint planning, estimation, backlog refinement, and release planning activities.
– Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting production issues and driving root-cause analysis.
Additional
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills:
– Strong expertise in Jetpack Compose and Material Design 3.
– Hands-on experience with Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, StateFlow, and SharedFlow.
– Experience with Hilt/Dagger dependency injection frameworks.
– Strong understanding of Android Architecture Components including ViewModel, Navigation Component, Room, and WorkManager.
– Experience with Retrofit, OkHttp, REST APIs, and secure API integrations.
– Experience implementing Android security best practices including Keystore, Biometric Authentication, and Play Integrity APIs.
– Experience leading Android development teams and conducting architecture/code reviews.
We are seeking a highly skilled Android Developer with deep hands-on experience in building digital wallet, payment, location-based, and proximity interaction features using UWB and NFC technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Wallet & Payments:
– Implement Google Wallet integrations including passes, offers, loyalty cards, transit passes, and identity flows.
– Develop Google Pay payment flows including payment tokenization, merchant validation, and secure transaction handling.
– Integrate with payment gateways and implement validation, error handling, and reconciliation.
– Develop mapping features using Google Maps SDK and Location Services API.
– Implement geofencing, background location tracking, and fused location optimization.
– Build custom map layers, clustering, markers, and real-time route visualizations.
– Build device-to-device ranging and proximity-aware experiences using Android Nearby UWB APIs. – Implement secure session establishment, peer discovery, and precise distance/angle measurement. – Develop NFC features using HCE and Reader/Writer Mode. – Implement NDEF reading/writing, tag interactions, and secure element usage. General Android Engineering: – Write modular Kotlin code using MVVM or Clean Architecture. – Build reusable components and secure, efficient features. – Apply accessibility, performance optimization, and robust error handling. – BLE experience.
– Knowledge of tokenization, PCI compliance, and secure payment flow design.
– Experience with modular apps, analytics, crash reporting, and CI/CD.
