Job Title: SAP Business Analyst – SD/MM & FI/CO Intercompany Processes

Location: Reno, NV (Onsite – 5 Days a Week)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Business Analyst with strong functional knowledge of SAP SD, SAP MM, and FI/CO to support intercompany process design, business requirements analysis, and SAP ECC process improvements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with intercompany sales, purchasing, delivery, transfer pricing, financial accounting, cost allocation, and project settlement processes.

The consultant will work closely with Finance, Accounting, Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and IT teams to analyze existing workflows, document business requirements, identify process gaps, and support functional design, testing, and implementation of intercompany solutions.

The primary focus is SAP SD with substantial SAP MM experience, along with strong integration knowledge of FI/CO. SAP Project Systems (PS) settlement expertise is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP SD/MM – Functional Analysis and Process Design

Analyze and document SAP ECC order-to-cash and intercompany sales processes, including sales orders, plant determination, deliveries, goods issue, intercompany billing, and customer billing.
Lead requirements gathering and functional analysis for intercompany purchasing processes involving purchasing organizations, vendors, purchasing info records, purchase orders, pricing conditions, goods receipts, and invoice processing.
Evaluate the impact of sales-order changes on linked intercompany purchase orders, deliveries, product configurations, and plant-specific manufacturing requirements.
Analyze transfer pricing and pricing-condition issues, including missing or outdated pricing records, purchasing info records, and pricing master data.
Design and validate fulfillment scenarios for direct drop shipments and subsidiary receipt or value-add processes.
Assess existing custom SAP ECC transactions and enhancements, including ZPOCREATE, to understand business logic, dependencies, and downstream impacts before recommending changes.
Coordinate with technical teams to prepare functional specifications and support enhancements to existing SAP transactions and integrations.
Develop process maps, business requirements documents, functional specifications, Jira stories, test scenarios, and end-user documentation.

2. Intercompany Fulfillment and Pricing

Support the design and validation of direct drop-shipment scenarios, including supplying-plant determination, intercompany purchasing requirements, and customer and intercompany billing.
Analyze subsidiary receipt and value-add scenarios involving intercompany purchase orders, deliveries, goods issue, goods receipt, and billing.
Validate end-to-end transaction consistency between sales orders, intercompany purchase orders, delivery documents, material movements, and invoices.
Work with business and technical teams to resolve pricing discrepancies, plant-determination issues, and order-to-delivery process gaps.
Ensure that proposed process changes align with business controls, operational requirements, and financial accounting impacts.

3. SAP FI/CO – Intercompany Accounting and Cost Allocation

Analyze SAP FI-AR, FI-AP, and CO processes supporting intercompany transactions and cross-company financial postings.
Document reciprocal intercompany AR/AP processes, including the creation or staging of receiving-company AP entries from originating intercompany invoices.
Define business requirements for invoice review, parking, posting, exception handling, and automated AP processing.
Validate accounting controls for company codes, trading partners, document references, tax, currency, reversals, reconciliation, and audit evidence.
Assess SD–FI/CO integration and its impact on revenue recognition, inventory valuation, cost of sales, and delivering-plant accounting.
Analyze cost allocation, activity types, cost centers, profit centers, transfer-price markups, and settlement of service orders and other cost objects.
Support reconciliation and reporting requirements for intercompany transactions and month-end close.

4. SAP PS – Project Settlement and Accounting

Analyze project-related intercompany labor costs and project settlement requirements.
Review SAP Project Systems (PS) WBS elements, settlement rules, and project-to-FI/CO accounting flows.
Document requirements for project labor allocation, cost settlement, and financial reporting.
Coordinate with SAP PS and FI/CO specialists to resolve settlement discrepancies and validate accounting results.
Assess automation opportunities for AP postings generated from intercompany AR invoices and related project-settlement reporting.

5. Business Analysis, Testing, and Documentation

Conduct stakeholder interviews and requirements workshops with Finance, Accounting, Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and IT.
Translate business requirements into functional designs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable development requirements.
Develop end-to-end test scenarios covering sales orders, intercompany POs, deliveries, goods movements, billing, pricing, and accounting.
Coordinate system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), defect triage, and business sign-off.
Maintain process documentation, decision logs, issue trackers, functional specifications, and test evidence.
Support change management, user training, deployment readiness, and post-implementation issue resolution.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of experience in SAP functional consulting or SAP business analysis, preferably in SAP ECC environments.
Strong hands-on functional knowledge of SAP SD, including order-to-cash, intercompany sales, deliveries, billing, and plant determination.
Substantial experience with SAP MM, including intercompany purchasing, purchase orders, goods receipt, invoice verification, and purchasing info records.
Experience with intercompany processes spanning SAP SD, MM, FI, and CO.
Strong understanding of transfer pricing, pricing conditions, intercompany billing, and master data dependencies.
Experience documenting business requirements, process flows, functional specifications, Jira stories, and test cases.
Proven experience supporting SIT, UAT, defect resolution, and cross-functional stakeholder workshops.
Ability to analyze custom SAP ECC transactions and enhancements without assuming existing functionality can be replaced without impact assessment.
Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SAP FI-AR, FI-AP, and CO intercompany accounting.
Knowledge of reciprocal AR/AP processing and automated intercompany invoice posting.
Experience with SAP PS, WBS settlement rules, project labor allocation, and project-to-FI/CO integration.
Understanding of service-order settlement, cost allocation, transfer-price markups, and month-end reconciliation.
Experience with SAP custom transactions, Z-programs, and integrations between SAP SD/MM and financial systems.
Familiarity with Jira, Agile delivery, process mapping, and functional testing tools.
