Role: Sr. Workday Functional Architect
Location: Menlo Park, CA (Onsite)
Duration: Long Term Contract
This is pretty Urgent and Critical Requirement
Responsibilities:
· Configurations: Configure Workday modules (Core HCM, Absence and Time tracking, Payroll) to align with client workflows.
· Data management: Assist with data migration and ensure data accuracy
· Process improvement: Identify and implement improvements to business processes using the Workday platform
· Demonstrated knowledge of Workday Drive, Workday Docs, letter templates, Questionnaire, Survey, Reference Letters etc.
· Advanced hand-on process with Hire, Onboarding, Change Job, and Termination business processes. Should have worked on Notification and Alerts configuration.
· Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Workday reporting tools (Advanced, Matrix, Composite reports).
· Manage and maintain Workday security framework (roles, domains, business process security policies).
· Be able to provide recommendations to Tier 1 Team to fix incorrect transactions
· Participate in Workday releases, analyze impacts, and implement updates.
· Perform data loading via EIBs. Support data migration, tenant setup, and tenant management activities.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Payroll, Recruiting, Absence, IAM etc.
Time & Absence Requirements:
· Understanding of foundational HCM principles including Business Processes, Reporting, Calculated Fields, Security, & Notifications
· Advanced hand-on experience with time-off plan configuration including complex accruals, carryovers, shadow plans and touchpoints with leaves and time tracking.
· Advanced hands-on experience with leave configuration including balance periods, cascading leaves, intermittent leaves, and complex eligibility and validation rules.
· Experience with ancillary absence processes such as automated leave return, automatic balance adjustments and transfers, Sell Time Off and others.
· Experience with Workday time-tracking configuration, time submissions, and employee work schedules.
· Experience with reporting using the available Absence and Time Tracking data sources.
· Knowledge of Workday’s API capabilities for the Absence and Time Tracking modules.
Payroll Requirements:
· Understanding of foundational HCM principles including Business Processes, Reporting, Calculated Fields, Security, & Notifications
· Workday Payroll processing knowledge including calculation, complete, and settle steps
· Experience with building payroll components (Earnings, Deductions, Account Posting Rules, Run Categories, Payment Election Rules)
· Experience with third party payroll configuration (External Earnings, External Deductions, External Inputs)
· Experience with reporting data sources for Payroll (Payroll Results) and Accounting (Journal Lines)
· Knowledge of payroll regulatory rules and their impact on payroll configuration
· Knowledge of payroll touchpoints (Time Tracking, Absence, HCM, Compensation, Benefits)
Workday Functional Skill Matrix:
· If we have a candidate who is 'Expert' in “Time and Absence” module but has scored 'Moderate' in “Core HCM” module, we should evaluate them.
· If we have a candidate who is 'Expert' in “Payroll” module but has scored 'Moderate' in “Core HCM” module, we should evaluate them.
· We might get candidate who is 'Expert' in “Time and Absence” and “Payroll” but have moderate configuration experience in “Core HCM”. We might evaluate them as well.
· It is difficult to find candidate who is 'Expert' in all 3 modules “Core HCM”, “Time and Absence” and “Payroll”, as these are vast.
