Role: Battery Systems Engineer

Location: Elkhart, IN(Day One Onsite)

Personal Background

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science or related engineering field

· Required: Minimum of 8+ years of experience in engineering, ideally in the battery or automotive industry with hybrid and/or electric vehicles

· Preferred: 5 years’ experience in battery pack development

Job Technical Skills

· Strong knowledge of DFMEA process

· Experience with schematic software

· Experience with design verification

· Ability to review customer requirements and develop gap analysis to establish variant lists

· Background in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering and battery systems is a big plus

· Familiarity with automotive quality systems (IATF/ISO standards)

· Knowledge of quality, safety and manufacturability of battery packs

· Experience with high voltage and high capacity lithium ion battery systems: LTO and NMC preferred

· Experience specifying and setting up tests with cyclers and other diagnostic equipment

· Experience with BMS software control algorithms and hardware design preferred

· Experience with power electronics preferred

· Demonstrable experience with tools and test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, meters, diagnostics/analysis software) to perform standardized certification testing
