Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Epic Ambulatory Application Support Contractor to support and optimize Epic Ambulatory and associated modules. The contractor will work closely with the SFDPH Epic Ambulatory team, business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to support Service Desk tickets, system optimization, project build, integrations, and ongoing maintenance efforts across multiple Epic modules.
Key Responsibilities:
Epic Application Support & Optimization
- Provide day‑to‑day Epic Ambulatory application support, including Service Desk ticket resolution and system issue troubleshooting.
- Support optimization requests, enhancements, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
- Participate in project build, report build, system configuration, and integrated testing efforts.
- Assist with Epic Ambulatory modules including Wisdom, Bones, Kaleidoscope, Healthy Planet, MyChart, EpicCare Link, and Compass Rose.
- Support clinical workflows from discovery through go‑live, optimization, and post‑implementation maintenance.
Technical Project Management
- Assess and optimize system designs by analyzing user needs and clinical workflows.
- Lead and coordinate workflow design sessions, documentation, build/configuration, testing, and issue resolution.
- Develop and execute project plans, timelines, task breakdowns, and resource assignments.
- Facilitate governance processes across business and IT teams, supporting intake, prioritization, approvals, funding, and delivery tracking.
- Schedule and lead project status meetings, build sessions, testing cycles, and go‑live readiness activities.
- Monitor project progress, escalate risks/issues, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Integration, Testing & Data Management
- Lead integration and functional testing between Epic EHR and designated systems.
- Develop test plans, test cases, and test reports; document and track defects.
- Participate in data staging, manipulation, validation, and conversion activities.
- Support data movement frameworks and integrations in coordination with CCSF, DPH IT, and third‑party vendors.
- Manage issue resolution before, during, and after go‑live events.
Documentation, Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Create, maintain, and publish project documentation, technical reference materials, and integration documentation.
- Prepare and deliver user training and training materials.
- Provide knowledge transfer and build in‑house technical capacity prior to contract completion.
- Produce weekly status reports and required project documentation.
- Support reporting and analytics needs, including ServiceNow productivity reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Epic Ambulatory Application Certification (required, current).
- Mastery of the Epic Ambulatory application and clinical workflows.
- Experience across full Epic implementation lifecycle: discovery, validation, workflow design, build, testing, training, go‑live, optimization, and upgrades.
- Strong experience in ServiceNow Service Desk ticket management.
- Proven project management experience in complex, multi‑stakeholder healthcare environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of Epic EHR implementation and support experience.
- Current Epic Ambulatory CEE.
- Epic Reporting Workbench experience.
- Epic module experience or certifications in:
- Wisdom
- Bones
- Kaleidoscope
- Healthy Planet
- MyChart
- EpicCare Link
- Compass Rose
- Experience with Epic integrated projects and cross‑system integrations.
- Strong experience supporting strategic and tactical deployments in healthcare IT.
Deliverables
- Weekly project and status reports.
- Complete project documentation (project plans, testing artifacts, integration documentation).
- Measured Service Desk productivity via ServiceNow reporting.
- Knowledge transfer and operational readiness documentation.
