Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong SAP background to lead critical IT programs and projects. This role requires a hands-on leader who ensures delivery excellence, drives process consistency across phases, and acts as a trusted partner to the client. The ideal candidate will combine deep SAP program management expertise with sharp communication, escalation discipline, and a results-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Project Management
- Manage end-to-end SAP and non-SAP projects across discovery, design, build, SIT, UAT, release, and hypercare phases.
- Ensure timely sign-off of deliverables (design specs, DFS, BRDs, etc.) and manage dependencies across global teams.
- Track progress with measurable weekly milestones and escalate risks proactively.
- Align project reporting with client PMs to avoid status mismatches (Green vs. Amber).
- Update MTP trackers and follow release management processes to avoid last-minute escalations.
Delivery Excellence & Governance
- Enforce SLA discipline (2–3 day response times) across all tasks and stakeholders.
- Maintain strict adherence to reporting cadences and standardized templates.
- Drive consistency in discovery sessions, design reviews, build tracking, and UAT readiness.
- Ensure all hypercare issues are logged and resolved systematically via SNOW.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Operate under a Champion–Challenger model to elevate Birlasoft as a gold-standard partner.
- Communicate clearly and professionally:
- Include project IDs and subject clarity in emails.
- Provide executive summaries and crisp, actionable updates.
- Use escalation paths constructively, highlighting issues without blame.
- Build a two-way feedback loop with client stakeholders to continuously improve engagement.
Ownership & Consulting Mindset
- Own tasks until results are achieved, not until they are handed off.
- Adopt a “consultant-first” approach—work as an extension of the client team.
- Be research-oriented, proactive, and precise in identifying and solving problems.

Required Skills & Experience
- 8–12 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in project/program management.
- Strong SAP functional or technical background; ability to manage mixed SAP and non-SAP portfolios.
- Proven experience in managing multi-phase projects with distributed global teams.
- Strong command over project management tools, reporting, and governance frameworks.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and escalation management skills.
- Experience in handling release management processes, UAT, and hypercare.
