Role: Oracle Database Engineer
Location: **ONSITE POSITION** Possible locations Jersey City, NJ – Tampa, FL – Dallas, TX

Job Description :
The L3 Database Engineer will be part of the Database team and will have responsibility to:
• Support and manage Distributed Database Technologies related to Oracle.
• Adhere to best practices on Incident, Problem and Change management
• Lead projects independently with minimal guidance.
• Responsible for managing and supporting Oracle database platforms working closely with vendors, external consultants, application support teams, technical support team and team members
• Installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining database instances both on premises and on AWS EC2 cloud
• Recommending and implementing database security policies
• Recommending and implementing database backup, recovery, and redundancy strategies
• Implementing automated procedures to proactively handle issues and alerts.
• Working independently to perform database performance analysis, capacity planning, system sizing and ongoing maintenance
Specific Responsibilities
Primary Skills
• Should have worked as an L3 Engineer or above in managing large scale Oracle Database environments
• Demonstrate strong performance Tuning and Optimization skills including re-writing SQLs for optimal performance.
• Strong Experience in Oracle Database Upgrades
• Strong experience in setting up data replication using Golden Gate
• Extensive Experience with Databases on ASM and Oracle RAC
• Possess strong Knowledge of operating systems (Unix / Linux)
• Hands on experience with Shell and Python scripting (added advantage) to automate tasks enabling self-healing capabilities.
• Strong experience with Table partitioning handling large databases
• Be able to handle tasks and projects independently with minimum guidance and directions
• Should be able to research, design, document and implement new Database related services independently
• Strong experience in Backup and recovery processes
• Well versed with SQL and Pl/sql skills
• Possesses Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with various stake holders
• Good team player and should have worked with diverse global teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a complex environment to determine business and customer needs and provide the best solution needed
• Should be able to understand interlaying technologies like Networking, Applications and its impact to Database
• Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately
Nice to have
• Strong knowledge on AWS cloud technologies
• Knowledge of Ansible and Python.
• Knowledge on ITIL, Processes would be an added advantage
• Management and Configuration of Oracle Enterprise Manager
Skill Required
• Minimum of 5-8 years of related experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred with Masters or equivalent experience
