Job Description Role: Junior DevOps Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 6-12+ Months Contract
Job type: Onsite
Experience: 3-4 years
Rate: $35/hr on C2C
Technical Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent with 3-4 years’ experience.
• Proficiency in Test automation using Python as scripting language
• Experience with enterprise hardware such as Rack and Tower servers, Enterprise Switches, Storage is preferred
• Have knowledge of how to rack, stack, and cable hardware if needed
• Used development infrastructure tools such as Git, GitHub, and JIRA
• Good understanding of Windows and Linux (Ubuntu and CentOS Preferred)
• Experience in using VMware vSphere, vCenter and ESXi
• Knowledge of DevOps concepts and successful examples of applying DevOps methods and practices; understanding of CI/CD principles is a huge plus
Process Skills:
• Design, development, automation, and maintenance of release processes based on DevOps principles, providing capabilities for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
• Administrate virtualized infrastructure and automate day to day tasks as needed
• General OS administration including Windows, Linux, RHEL, VMware
• General hands on end-to-end, troubleshooting of hardware, software, and applications if needed
• Prepare user guides and design documents
• Code management using Git and GitHub
• Collaborative support of R&D business equipment and provide steady state operations
• Assist with lab logistics including rack moves, changes, inventory management, storage area, shipping and receiving as needed
Behavioral Skills:
• Good communication and organizational skills at technical and managerial levels
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
