Sr Cloud Network Engineer

Location: Bellevue, WA

Job Description:

1. Network Onboarding & Provisioning:

• Oversee the integration of new users and systems into cloud environments.
• Ensure the network provisioning is done according to security policies and government regulations.

1. Cloud Network Architecture:

• Implement secure network architectures such as VPCs, subnets, routing tables, and network access control lists.
• Work across AWS, Azure, and other cloud platforms to ensure optimal network design and security.

1. Cloud Networking Services:

• Configure and manage cloud networking services like AWS Direct Connect, Azure VPN Gateway, and transit gateways.
• Facilitate secure connectivity between on-premises environments and the cloud.

1. Network Security:

• Implement network security controls like security groups, firewalls, and web application firewalls.
• Ensure the network is protected against unauthorized access and potential cyber threats.

1. Network Monitoring:

• Monitor network traffic and security logs using cloud services for flow logs, activity trails, and threat detection.
• Respond to potential security incidents.

1. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate with teams to ensure the secure integration of applications and services into the cloud network infrastructure.

1. Network Assessments & Audits:

• Regularly assess and audit network systems to ensure they comply with internal and external standards.

1. Documentation & Procedures:

• Develop and maintain network security policies and procedures.
• Ensure they align with security standards and regulations.

1. Technical Support:

• Provide troubleshooting and support for cloud network-related issues.

1. Stay Up-to-Date:

• Keep abreast of new cloud networking services, security features, and best practices across platforms.

Qualifications:

1. Experience:

• Familiarity with network onboarding and provisioning in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of cloud network security standards and compliance (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA).

1. Security Frameworks:

• Understanding of frameworks like NIST 171, and familiarity with tools such as Azure Defender, AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Macie.

1. Network Security Expertise:

• Strong grasp of network security principles, protocols, and best practices.
• Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and cloud monitoring tools.

1. Cloud Networking Experience:

• Hands-on experience configuring cloud services such as VPCs, Direct Connect, VPN gateways, and firewalls across AWS, Azure, and other platforms.

1. Automation Skills:

• Experience with automation tools (e.g., Python, Terraform) for managing network configurations.

1. Certifications:

• Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or similar credentials.

• Security: Ability to implement and enforce strong security measures to safeguard network infrastructures.
• Cloud Platforms: Expertise in AWS, Azure, and potentially other platforms.
• Compliance: Knowledge of security regulations like FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST.
