Roll: Senior Platform Operations Engineer
Location: Remote
Responsibilities
• Manage and direct L2 system support activities of the 365x24x7 Platform Operations team in production.
• Led an efficient team to support and manage different applications and provide status updates to the Manager
• Serve as a first point of escalation for day-to-day platform operations.
• Strong understanding of application performance monitoring, system resource monitoring, and log aggregator tools.
• Manage and mentor team members to help expand skill sets and maximize performance.
• Monitor the system availability targets for all critical applications and SLA for all incidents and Serve as Incident Manager for all major incidents.
• SLA measurement and reporting
• Proactive and thorough ability to manage work and prioritize different work streams per the organization's commitments.
• Regular capacity assessment for all critical applications and provide recommendations as per the business demands.
• Develop and implement ITIL-based processes that support substantial technology operations.
• Partner with business partners and vendors to understand their product road maps and how they fit the Platform Operations plan.
• Manage third-party service providers and product vendors used in the day-to-day
• Work closely with the other departments to improve the performance and availability of IT applications and systems by leveraging AI and other relevant technologies.
• Assess current operating procedures and use process improvement methodologies to identify automation and continuous improvement opportunities
• Foster a culture of constant improvement, innovation, and customer focus within the team
• Stay abreast of industry trends through benchmarking, participation in professional associations, etc., to lead the department’s strategic business direction.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with Platform Operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Security, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
• Eight (8) years of experience and demonstrated success in technology experience, leadership skills with a strong emphasis on IT Operations, required.
• Experience in Linux and IBM stacks, including IIB/ACE, APIC, Datapower, Windows, Redhat Openshift, AWS, and Azure.
• Hands-on experience in various operational support tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, VictorOps, Solarwinds, Extrahop, and Azure Monitoring.
• Three (3) years of experience in financial services is preferred.
• Experience establishing SLAs and availability goals to meet business requirements and budget constraints is preferred.
• Experience working with regulatory, privacy, security, and associated laws, rules, and regulations, including all applicable standards, is also preferred.
