Business Objective:
Our client is currently seeking an experienced and highly-skilled, contract Full Stack Web Developer with at least five years of React experience, two years with Python, and two years with SQL. This role is part of a small, entrepreneurial team that operates at a fast pace. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our team of scientists who are conducting pioneering biology/machine-learning explorations using sophisticated in-vitro models like organoids.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Provable track record of constructing quality, user-friendly tools in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience with React
- At least 2 years of experience with Python and SQL
- Experience working on cloud-native architectures in public clouds (ideally AWS)
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with a diverse team of professionals
- Ability to quickly acquire new technologies and programming languages
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with biological data and processes is a strong plus
- Experience working with scientists or in a research environment is advantageous
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain user-friendly and responsive web UI in JavaScript/React/Apollo
- Construct and implement GraphQL schema
- Develop and maintain backend systems with Node.js
- Design and optimize SQL database schemas and queries for efficient data storage and retrieval
- Contribute code to other cloud based services written in Python
- Write and maintain robust suite of tests to ensure the functionality and integrity of the developed applications
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the team to understand user needs and translate them into user-friendly and aesthetic user interfaces
- Collaborate closely with a team of scientists to build tools that assist in ground-breaking biology research
