Location: St. Paul, MN (Hybrid)
Duration: 24 Months Contract

Description:

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to support our direct state client. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing our SQL Server applications and related components. This role involves working with Azure SQL technologies, providing mentorship to other DBAs, and ensuring the overall health and performance of our database infrastructure.

Sample Tasks:

• Support SQL Server applications.
• Support SQL Server components, including SSIS and SSRS.
• Maintain and troubleshoot ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes.
• Perform SQL backups and Disaster Recovery.
• Conduct database migrations and upgrades.
• Work with Azure SQL technologies.
• Document work and processes.
• Provide mentorship to other DBAs on the team.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.

Desired Skills:

• Extensive experience with SQL Server applications and supporting components, including SSIS and SSRS.
• Proven ability to maintain and troubleshoot ETL processes.
• Experience in mentoring IT staff and database design.
• Ability to assess and introduce new technologies to enhance database infrastructure operations.
• Experience as a lead worker in a team of subject matter experts with varying capacities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Azure SQL technologies.
• Experience with AlwaysOn and other High Availability SQL technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
