Position:: Solution Architect

Location –Richmond VA

Long term contract

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, select and recommend the optimal set of technologies (as part of a solutions architecture) to develop a particular solution
  • Create and articulate solutions architecture artifacts that clearly demonstrate the key architectural decisions, patterns and technologies within a proposed solution
  • Create and lead the process of integrating IT systems to achieve business goals and meet organizational requirements
  • Evaluate current state system architecture and collaborate with product and IT development teams to transition legacy systems to target state where needed
  • Develop an application and platform strategy that is informed by variables such as business trends, technical debt levels, and non-functional requirements
  • Translate business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders on options, risks, trade-offs and constraints associated with architectural recommendations
  • Develop, document and articulate enterprise level design patterns that can be reused and extended where needed
  • Review technical designs of systems, ensuring adherence to Kinsale developed standards, proven design patterns and industry best practices where possible
  • Support the tactical implementation of systems and applications
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and propose relevant changes to the existing architecture
  • Create reference architectures, prototypes and proof of concepts (POCs) when needed for design clarification and decision making
  • Develop and ensure compliance with non-functional requirements (security, scalability, usability, reliability, and performance)
  • Collaborate with team members, technical resources, and business stakeholders to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain business applications
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance in the Developer Community of Practice (CoP), planning, prioritization, and Agile ceremonies
