ContractJob Summary
We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to lead the architecture and design of a large-scale cloud migration from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to Microsoft Azure.
This role will be responsible for defining the target-state Azure architecture, guiding REST API and microservices design, ensuring cloud-native best practices, and leading the modernization of applications during migration.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in both AWS and Azure ecosystems, API architecture, distributed systems, and enterprise integration patterns.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Migration Architecture
- Define end-to-end migration strategy (Rehost, Replatform, Refactor)
- Design Azure landing zone and governance model
- Architect high-availability, scalable, and secure Azure environments
- Assess current AWS workloads and define Azure equivalents
REST API & Microservices Architecture
- Define API-first architecture strategy
- Establish REST API standards (security, versioning, throttling, observability)
- Design microservices architecture patterns
- Guide development teams building APIs
- Implement API gateway strategy using Azure API Management
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in Solution Architecture
- Strong hands-on experience in both AWS and Azure
- Proven experience leading AWS → Azure migration programs
- Deep understanding of RESTful API architecture
- Experience with microservices and container platforms
- Strong knowledge of networking, security, and cloud governance
- Experience in enterprise integration patterns
