TITLE: Software Developer – Technical Specialist
Location: North Carolina (Remote)
Duration: W2/C2C Contract
Note: The candidate will be allowed to work remotely until all staff return to site. At that point the candidate will be required to come onsite.
Job Description:
NCDIT Transportation is seeking to fill a short term (approx. 12 month)contractor assignment. The selected candidate will fill the role of Java Mid-Level Technical Specialist on the DMV Traffic Records Systems (TRS). TRS supports the DMV Crash Data Management and DOH Traffic Safety in collecting, analysis, and distribution of motor vehicle accident information. The chosen candidate will be part of the application maintenance team serving as the technical specialist and consultant by independently managing complex Java projects and providing critical second level 24×7 on-call support.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Math or Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Experience programming in Java/JEE, Oracle, and XML for a minimum of 3 years.
- Experience with Web Services, JSP, Servlets, Spring, Struts, Eclipse IDE, and version control tools for a minimum of 3 years.
- Demonstrated ability in application analysis and design, cost analysis, estimating staffing needs, testing, documentation, and implementation for a minimum of 3 years
- Experience providing technical helpdesk support for a minimum of 3 years.
- Demonstrate these Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Visual C++, .NET, CORBA, EJB, and Hibernate. Java Certification.
- Demonstrate effective communications in oral and written form. Proficiency in basic computer
- applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.
