Job Title: Snowflake Architect
Location: Wilmington, DE or Buffalo, NY – Onsite
Job Description –
We are looking for a senior Solution Architect to define and govern the technical architecture for a large-scale Teradata migration to Snowflake and Databricks on Azure. This role will set the blueprint, frameworks, and standards for data, application, and security architecture across the program.
Key Responsibilities
- Define end-to-end architecture and migration strategy from Teradata to Snowflake/Databricks on Azure.
- Design medallion architecture patterns and data platform frameworks for batch and streaming workloads.
- Establish data management, governance, and security patterns aligned to financial services regulations.
- Architect CDC and streaming solutions for enterprise data integration.
- Provide architectural guidance on application and integration design that consumes platform data.
- Lead design reviews, document architectural decisions, and maintain technical blueprints.
- Evaluate and recommend use of Snowflake vs. Databricks for different workloads.
- Collaborate with InfoSec, compliance, and risk teams to ensure cloud security and regulatory alignment.
- Mentor Solution Engineers and guide implementation teams on patterns and best practices.
- Partner with product and business stakeholders to balance architectural integrity with delivery timelines.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10–12+ years of experience in solution/enterprise architecture roles.
- Deep knowledge of Snowflake and Databricks architectures and reference patterns.
- Strong understanding of Teradata and/or PowerCenter and migration considerations to cloud.
- Experience designing medallion architectures, data platforms, and data management frameworks.
- Solid background in application architecture, OO design, and integration patterns.
- Expertise in cloud security architecture and controls on Azure.
- Familiarity with financial services compliance and regulatory expectations.
- Hands-on background with Python, PySpark, SQL, and data engineering concepts.
- Experience with cost optimization, capacity planning, and performance design in cloud environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and blueprinting tools.
- Prior leadership in a large-scale data platform or warehouse modernization program.
- Experience designing frameworks reusable across multiple domains/teams.
