Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Chicago, IL. This is a hybrid role requiring the selected candidate to be onsite at least three days per week. The ideal candidate will hold a CCNP certification and bring deep expertise in Cisco FTD, FMC, BGP, EIGRP, and Layer 2 switching technologies.
This position plays a critical role in the design, implementation, and support of our enterprise network infrastructure. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently, solve complex network challenges, and collaborate cross-functionally with other IT and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure with a focus on Cisco technologies.
Manage and maintain Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) firewalls and Firepower Management Center (FMC).
Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols including BGP and EIGRP.
Support and optimize Layer 2 switching infrastructure.
Conduct network performance analysis and implement improvements as needed.
Participate in network architecture planning and capacity management.
Respond to and resolve network incidents, problems, and service requests.
Create and maintain network documentation including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
CCNP certification is required.
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering roles.
Strong experience with Cisco FTD firewalls and FMC.
Proficiency in BGP, EIGRP, and Layer 2 switching.
Deep understanding of networking principles, IP routing, VLANs, STP, and trunking.
Must be able to work onsite at least three days per week at our Chicago office.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Good to Have:
Experience with Microsoft Azure, especially ExpressRoute connectivity.
CCIE certification (preferred but not required).
