Role: Senior Network / Palo Alto Consultant (US Citizen)
Location: Remote, (US Citizen)

• 15 years of overall industry experience working with cross functional teams
• At least 8 years of strong operational network experience with firewalls (primarily Palo Alto)
• Illumio Host Agent experience is a plus
• Strong networking skills; CCNP certification or higher
• Collaborative attitude with ability to work across business units and application teams
• Ability to drive application owners toward successful outcomes
• Strong understanding of the big picture and how technical components fit together
• Strong ability to multitask, prioritize activities, and meet deadlines
• Ability to provide technical leadership to less experienced personnel individually or in teams
• Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to pass background checks
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 8 years as a security consultant working with Palo Alto firewalls
• Experience with Palo Alto policy design, review, implementation, and troubleshooting
• Ability to write allow/deny policies based on validated criteria
• Ability to parse firewall log files and create rules based on validated data flows
• Strong understanding of security access rules, ACLs, source/destination rules, and policy definitions
• Understanding of protocol communication (control/response, active/passive ports) and how they apply to application and data communication rule sets
• Strong understanding of IP addressing and subnetting
• Management experience
• Ability to manipulate large datasets in Excel (vLookup, IF statements, AVERAGE, SEARCH, Pivot Tables, Sorting, Filtering, etc.)
• Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Ansible
