Position
Overview / Statement of Work
The Senior Network Engineer /
Architect will temporarily fill a critical leadership and technical skill gap
following the departure of the Chief Network Operations Officer. This role
serves as the highest-level network technical authority, leading
architecture, design, and Tier 3/4 operational support across the Citys
mission-critical enterprise and service-provider-scale network environment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on
technical leader with deep Juniper and Palo Alto expertise, capable of
bridging strategic network architecture with operational execution
in a large, complex environment supporting VoIP and high-volume IP Video
Surveillance (IPVS).

Lead network architecture for strategic,
city-wide initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives,
performance requirements, and security standards
Design and fine-tune Quality of Service
(QoS) policies
Queuing, policing, shaping,
and classification
Guarantee performance for VoIP
and IP Video Surveillance
Architect and support VoIP network
transport
Session Border Controllers
(SBCs)
Gateways and related
infrastructure
Design and support IP Video Surveillance
(IPVS) network infrastructure
Camera-to-VMS communication
Storage and high-bandwidth
transport
Perform capacity planning and traffic
analysis
Forecast bandwidth for
continuous, high-resolution H.264/H.265 streams
Design and manage secure VLAN segmentation
and network zoning
IPVS environments
PoE / PoE+ power budgeting
on access switches
Configure and manage Juniper SRX and Palo
Alto NGFWs
Security policies, NAT,

User-ID, Application-ID,

Enforce enterprise network security

Skills & Experience
10+ years
of progressive Network Engineering experience
3+ years
in a Senior / Lead / Architect-level
role
Deep hands-on expertise with Juniper Junos
