Project Overview:
We are modernizing our data warehouse by migrating from SAP BW to Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery) to enhance scalability, performance, and cost efficiency. The role will focus on analyzing the existing SAP BW environment, documenting data lineage, and enabling a seamless rebuild in GCP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth analysis of SAP BW objects (InfoProviders, DataSources, Transformations, DTPs, Process Chains).

• Perform source-to-target mapping from SAP ECC/S4HANA/Flat Files into BW layers.

• Reverse-engineer and document business logic (key figures, currency/unit conversions, ABAP routines, hierarchies, master data).

• Create detailed documentation including lineage diagrams, mapping documents, and transformation rules.

• Collaborate closely with the GCP BigQuery development team to ensure accurate rebuilds.

• Support data validation to confirm alignment between BW and BigQuery outputs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 4+ years of hands-on SAP BW experience (BW on HANA or BW/4HANA a plus).

• Strong expertise in BW objects (InfoCubes, DSOs, MultiProviders, InfoObjects, Transformations).

• Experience analyzing and documenting complex ABAP routines in BW transformations.

• Proficiency in data modeling and warehousing concepts (ETL/ELT, SCD, etc.).

• Ability to analyze data flows from SAP ECC or S/4HANA.

• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery mandatory).

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to prior cloud migration projects (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, Azure Synapse).

• Basic SQL knowledge to support BigQuery validation.

• Familiarity with GCP services such as Dataflow or Dataproc.

• Knowledge of SAP BEx Queries.
