Official Title/Assigned Title: Full-stack Java developer
Company/Location: Aventiv/Securus Technologies. Based in Plano/Dallas area. 75024 (Local only with DL)
Onsite/Hybrid/Remote: Hybrid, onsite 1 day/ week for meetings and design work (1 day in a week rather days remote)

Duties:
- Full-stack, web-based Java development.
- Writing REST integrations.
- 50% of their time working on web-based Java apps in Spring, and 50% of their time writing front-end code in NextJS for their CMS system.
- Longer-term new development and new features with Java, REST APIs, and NextJS for Server-Side Rendering.
- Supporting applications and enhancements.
- Working with Redux Libraries.
- Working with log tools like Elastic Search, ELK, and Kibana.
- Developing in an Agile environment with 2 weeks sprints and daily stand-ups.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of full-stack web-based Java development experience, including design experience.
- Experience with Spring.
- NextJS experience on the front-end. BUT they would consider React as the next option, and then Typescript Angular as the 3rd option.
- Experience troubleshooting Java code and looking into code logs with tools like Elastic Search, ELK, Kibana or Logstash.
- REST API experience.
- Willingness to learn and work on their CMS system for front-end coding using NextJS.
Preferred Skills:
- Very heavy preference to have experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud tools.
- Nice to have some type of exposure to a CMS system, but not a requirement.
- Heavy preference for Redux or other libraries.
- Google Analytics for high level site tracking.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Cloud-based database experience with AWS Server side.
Story: Aventiv is looking for a Sr Java Developer to join their team doing both custom web-based Java development, and CMS front-end development. They will spend 50% of their time coding in Java on a Spring framework with REST integrations. These will be for enterprise applications, and they will spend about 70% of their time doing design work and new development, and the other 30% doing feature enhancement and maintenance development. The other 50% of their time will be building out their CMS system (product is called Builder with other custom and SaaS components linked to it). The CMS development will be front-end coding working with NextJS. They have a team of 7 developers, working in an Agile environment with 2-week sprints.
The work will be with Spring boot framework, and REST APIs. They deploy to the cloud with a cloud database, and CI/CD pipelines. Over time, this role will have the opportunity to learn and write CI/CD pipelines. The role is mostly remote, but they will go onsite about once every week for meetings and whiteboarding.
