Role Overview
The Azure Data Architect will own end-to-end architecture for secure, scalable, and high-performing healthcare data solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep Azure expertise, strong hands-on design experience, and a clear understanding of healthcare data standards and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and lead implementation of modern data platforms on Azure.

• Design scalable solutions using Azure Data Lake Gen2, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL.

• Build and guide data integration patterns using Azure Data Factory and API-based ingestion.

• Establish data governance, cataloging, lineage, and quality frameworks using Microsoft Purview and related tools.

• Define data modeling strategies for clinical, claims, payer, provider, and population health use cases.

• Ensure architecture aligns with HIPAA, security, and enterprise compliance requirements.

• Partner with product, analytics, and engineering teams to translate business goals into technical roadmaps.

• Provide technical leadership, documentation, and design standards across projects.

Required Skills and Experience

• 8+ years in data architecture and enterprise data engineering.

• 4+ years of strong Azure data platform architecture experience.

• Hands-on expertise with:

  • Azure Data Lake Gen2

  • Azure Synapse Analytics

  • Azure Databricks

  • Azure Data Factory

  • Azure SQL / SQL Server

• Strong experience with cloud data modeling, ELT/ETL, and high-volume batch + near-real-time pipelines.

• Solid knowledge of security, encryption, RBAC, and identity integration on Azure.

• Healthcare domain experience with at least one of the following:

  • Claims and payer data

  • EHR/EMR data

  • Provider, member, or revenue cycle data

  • Population health and quality measures

• Working understanding of healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT, or SNOMED.
