We are looking for a Senior level Individual contributor (Sr Engineer) to join our software engineering organization. The potential candidate will be responsible for driving the end-to-end release process, including process design, development, and management of our enterprise platform releases focusing on aspects like API and artifact versioning, process automation, and embedding the developed release processes into our daily development and QA workstreams. This role will strategize, define, and evangelize the platform release processes. The ideal candidate will have a mindset of owning both the technical implementation of the release processes and will be skilled at coordination and communication between engineering, product management, and stakeholders including customers based on those processes.
Key requirements for this role include:
- Design, develop, deploy, and manage enterprise platform software based on a detailed understanding of release automation, tracking and measurement of engineering best practices as well as a strong understanding of Cloud hosted Infrastructure technologies for microservices deployments (such as Kubernetes)
- Integrate DevOps and DevSecOps best practices in the development and QA processes based on a detailed understanding of cloud security and cloud infrastructure services.
- Design and implement processes and automation to track features and capabilities throughout development by multiple simultaneous workstreams.
- Provide frequent communication to key stakeholders (preferably automated) on the current standing of feature and patch release pipelines
Key Competencies
- 7+ Years of experience in software design, development, and deployment with at least 3+ years of experience working with best practices for release architecture for microservices deployments
- Significant experience with Enterprise software products and SDLC lifecycle.
- Strong Programming experience with Java and the Spring Boot framework.
- Strong collaboration and partnership focus across Development, QA, and DevOps organizations
- Strong execution and implementation ability in a complex business environment
- Exemplary leadership skills to engage diverse teams to partner and work together
- Proven ability to evangelize proven processes and measure success in transformation
- Extensive experience in integration of CI/CD pipelines with microservices deployments
- Understanding and working experience with Web protocols, Web Services, and REST APIs.
- Solid understanding of Data management technologies, and experience with at least one of the SQL and NoSQL products.
- Proficient in CI/CD toolchain including Git, JUnit, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifact repositories (Harbor, Artifactory,..), SonarQube, Hasicorp Vault, Others
- Experience leveraging DevSecOps scanning tools (Black Duck, Sysdig, …)
- Strong understanding and working experience of at least one public cloud technology.
- 4-year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Desired Skills and Experience
- Master’s degree preferred
- Cloud-related certifications preferred
- Experience working with at least one of the IAC tools such as Ansible, and Terraform is a plus.
- Candidates with strong expertise leveraging Config management tools are preferred.
