Role: Qlik Sense Developer

Location: Jersey City NJ

Position / Group description:

The position is for a Reporting & BI developer who will be part of Technology team supporting the Global Risk Management Technology group. The work assignments will include playing a key developer role in major project related work. Projects will include custom development, implementation and integration of vendor products, and enhancement/support of existing systems.

The Role will involve designing and developing Qlik Sense dashboards, data source feeds, complete application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting issues and resolving production problems along with supporting users by developing documentation and assistance tools.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work as a Reporting & BI Developer in Risk Management Technology
• Work closely with business analysts/project managers/other developers/stakeholders to implement requirements
• Verify implementation, perform functional testing, and deliver the system/module in production
• Perform initial tests to cover functional and non-functional requirements before end users do their UAT

Essential Experience/ Skills:

• Design and develop complex QlikSense dashboards
• Migrate reports from QlikView to QlikSense
• Good understanding of BI / data analytics platforms and best practices for handling large data volumes
• Develop QlikSense script and chart functions to transform and aggregate data
• Develop complex Qlik expressions on a variety of timeseries data
• Adept in using Vizlib visualization library and any other QlikSense third party extensions
• Build granular data load and app load tasks for faster and flexible data availability
• Strong in Oracle DB SQL script development and data modeling
• Experience and knowledge of SDLC methodologies and development processes such as requirement gathering, analysis and definition, prototyping, proof of concept, designing and implementation
• Use Jira, confluence and bitbucket for full development cycle (requirement to deployment)
• Experience in using workload scheduling systems such as TWS
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics

Preferred:

• Exposure in financial services industry, preferably with exposure to market risk or counterparty credit risk applications
• Knowledge of market risk domain like VaR, PnL vectors, various methods to calculate portfolio VaR, sensitivities etc.
• Experience in ETL (extract, transform and Load) development
• Object oriented programming experience using .net / java frameworks or python scripting
• Knowledge of Cloud native services, serverless services and micro-service architecture
