Role Summary:

QA Automation Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests to ensure the quality and functionality of web-based applications. This includes identifying priority test scenarios, creating execution plans, and documenting automated testing processes.

• Execute software quality assurance and testing for applications such as TIERS, YourTexasBenefits.com, YourTexasBenefits Mobile App, State Portal, Workflow Management, Eligibility Web Services, Enterprise Document Services, Enterprise Content Management, Document Center, and Call Center Inquiry.
  
• Develop, enhance, maintain, and execute new and existing test plans and test scenarios for web-based J2EE/Portal applications within HHSC’s SOA platform using Agile methodologies.
  
• Participate in requirements analysis, test design, test data preparation, and testing of various application components.
• Collaborate with development and business teams to ensure quality delivery.
• Create technical and design documentation as needed.
• Employ contemporary testing tools and methods to ensure applications function correctly and efficiently.
• Provide technical support for testing and implementation phases.
• Participate in design, code, and test walkthroughs, providing feedback on technical standards and customer requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Attributes:

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Deep understanding of programming concepts, testing methodologies, and web-based UI applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or MIS (preferred).

II. CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

8	Required	Knowledge of the limitations and capabilities of computer systems, IT equipment, programming languages, computer hardware/software, and operating systems.
8	Required	Experience analyzing requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria; writing test plans and scenarios to validate requirements.
8	Required	Skill analyzing software applications, defects, and business problems to devise innovative solutions.
3	Preferred	Experience using testing tools such as HP UFT, Katalon, HP LoadRunner, SoapUI, LoadUI, Selenium, HP ALM, HP PPM, SQL, XML, and batch interface testing.
3	Preferred	Experience collaborating across development and testing teams using Agile principles.
3	Preferred	Hands-on QA experience (manual and automated) with tools such as UFT, SoapUI, Selenium, ALM, PPM, JIRA, JAMA, and PLSQL.
