QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Selenium, Cucumber BDD, Java, Maven/Gradle, REST Assured, and API Testing tools (Postman, Bruno). The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks, executing end-to-end test strategies, and ensuring product quality across web and API layers in an Agile CI/CD environment. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Selenium, Cucumber BDD, Java, and Maven/Gradle to support functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.

• Build and optimize API automation suites using REST Assured, Postman, and Bruno, ensuring test coverage for RESTful, SOAP, and microservices-based architectures.

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers, and Business Analysts to define acceptance criteria, gather test data requirements, and ensure thorough test coverage across all layers.

• Develop, review, and enhance automated test scripts for both UI and backend services, promoting code reusability and maintainability.

• Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions), enabling continuous testing and faster delivery cycles.

• Perform defect tracking and reporting using JIRA, working cross-functionally to drive timely resolution and continuous quality improvement.

• Investigate automation failures, conduct root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes to maintain test suite reliability.

• Identify areas for test process improvement, automation expansion, and reduction of manual effort to improve efficiency and scalability.

• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and contribute to shaping team-level and organizational testing strategies.

• Mentor junior QA engineers, sharing best practices in automation development, BDD implementation, and API validation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in QA Automation Engineering.

• Proficiency in Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber BDD, Java, and build tools like Maven or Gradle.

• Strong experience in API automation with REST Assured, and practical knowledge of Postman and Bruno for API testing.

• Deep understanding of BDD principles, with the ability to write clear and maintainable feature files using Gherkin syntax.

• Solid grasp of Agile/Scrum methodologies, CI/CD practices, and secure testing principles.

• Proven expertise in developing test strategies, managing complex test scenarios, and ensuring traceability across multiple systems.

• Strong analytical and debugging skills to enhance automation stability and performance.

• Proficient in JIRA for test management, requirement traceability, and Agile workflow tracking.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and business units.

• Leadership qualities with a passion for knowledge sharing and mentoring within QA teams.
