Job title : Sr. DevOps Engineer with Gitlab experience

Location: Columbus, OH ( Also must be in Eastern (or) Central time zone)

Duration: 6-12 months +

Rate: $DOE/hr on C2C

Overview

Manages and maintains optimum platform infrastructure and application performance, reliability, and security using continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools, processes, and designs. Implements services to automate monitoring activities and provide critical information to facilitate response and resolution of performance issues and incidents. Deploys standardized and scalable software tools to ensure that systems operate without interruption at optimum performance. Troubleshoots and analyzes service disruptions to determine the root cause of issues and develop solutions for improved reliability. Utilizes cloud and virtualization technologies like AWS, configuration management tools, scripting languages, containerization technology, load balancing, monitoring, and analysis tools to scale and automate processes. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities and Duties

•       This position will collaborate effectively across cross functional engineering and project teams to develop solutions in a transforming Agile environment.

•       Develop processes and scripts to automate integration and deployment of application code to production and non-production environments

•       Build tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve customer experience

•       Deploy updates and fixes, and provide technical support to technology teams

•       Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues

•       Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance

•       Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure

•       Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying them to the team

•       Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes

•       Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results

•       Identifying technical problems and developing updates and fixes

•       Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

•       Assist in planning projects and being involved in project management decisions

Qualifications

•             Bachelor of science degree (or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or relevant field

•             Two to four years applicable experience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar software engineering role

•             Familiar with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) best practices

•             Experience with hybrid cloud environments using AWS

•             Proficiency with Git and related development workflows

•             Experience with GitLab DevOps tools
