Role: GCP DevOps Engineer
Location – Issaquah, WA – 5 days Onsite (look for locals / nearby state – willing to relocate)
Duration: 12+ Months Contract 
 
 
Mandatory Areas
Must Have Skills – GCP DevOps Engineer
Skill 1 – 4 + Yrs of Exp in GCP
Skill 2 – 10+ Yrs of Exp in DevOps
Skill 3 – 8 + Yrs of Exp in Terraform
 
A Google Cloud DevOps Engineer designs, implements, and manages cloud-based systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), collaborating with developers and IT staff to automate deployments, optimize resources, and ensure high application availability. 
 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
• Design, implement, and maintain Google cloud infrastructure and services. 
• Manage and automate GCP infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) – Terraform 
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to support application development and deployment. 
• Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and security. 
• Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure systems are reliable and compliant. 
• Implement cloud cost-optimization strategies and monitor cloud spending. 
• Conduct system troubleshooting, performance tuning, and root cause analysis. 
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery planning in cloud architectures. 
 
 
Mandatory Competencies & Qualifications: 
• Cloud Platforms: Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially Compute, Databases, Storage, Networking, IAM & Security and Serverless offerings. 
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with Terraform. 
• CI/CD: Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions or similar tools. 
• Containerization & Orchestration: Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes Administration work. 
• Scripting & Automation: Strong skills in scripting languages. 
• Security: Solid understanding of Google cloud security best practices. 
• Monitoring & Logging: Proficiency with tools like Cloud Observability, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar. 
• Networking: Understanding of VPCs/Shared VPC, subnets, VPC service controls, DNS, load balancers, VPNs, and firewalls. 
• Collaboration: Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams. 
 
 
Nice-to-Have Competencies: 
• Multi-Cloud Experience: Exposure to multiple cloud providers and hybrid cloud environments. 
• Serverless Architectures: Experience with Google Cloud Functions. 
• Database Knowledge: Familiarity with managing cloud-native databases. 
• DevSecOps Practices: Understanding of security integration in CI/CD pipelines. 
• Cloud Certifications: Google Cloud Professional Engineer 
• Configuration Management: Experience with configuration management tools. 
• Cloud FinOps: Experience managing and forecasting cloud spending. 
• Compliance: Knowledge of standards such as SOC2, HIPAA, ISO27001, or GDPR in cloud environments.
