Role: Mem SQL Developer (SingleStore)
Location: Temple Terrace, FL
Duration: 6 months
JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Install, configure, upgrade, and patch MemSQL/SingleStore clusters
· Manage distributed database architecture (aggregator + leaf nodes)
· Monitor database health, performance, and resource utilization
· Perform performance tuning (queries, indexes, pipelines, memory, disk)
· Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies
· Ensure high availability (HA) and proper failover configurations
· Handle data replication and cluster scaling (horizontal and vertical)
· Troubleshoot database issues, performance bottlenecks, and outages
· Implement security best practices (user access, roles, encryption)
· Automate DBA tasks using scripts (Shell, Python, etc.)
· Collaborate with application, DevOps, and data engineering teams
· Maintain documentation and follow operational best practices
· Minimum 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator
· Strong hands on experience with MemSQL/SingleStore
· Solid SQL skills and experience with distributed databases
· Understanding of OLTP and OLAP workloads
· Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
· Knowledge of sharding, replication, and partitioning
· Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
· Experience with monitoring tools (SingleStore Studio, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
· Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices
· Experience with real time analytics or streaming data pipelines
· Exposure to Kafka, Spark, or data ingestion tools
· Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
· Experience with other databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server
