Position: Mainframe Developer

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer to support and enhance mission-critical enterprise applications. This role involves designing, coding, testing, and implementing changes to mainframe systems, ensuring high performance and reliability for financial or business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development: Design and develop batch and online processes using COBOL, JCL, and CICS.
- Database Management: Perform complex data retrieval and manipulation using DB2 and VSAM.
- System Optimization: Analyze and tune mainframe programs to improve efficiency and reduce processing time.
- Modernization: Participate in mainframe modernization efforts, including API enablement and integrating mainframe data with modern platforms (like Python or Java).
- Support: Provide L2/L3 production support, troubleshooting production abends, and implementing permanent fixes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Business Analysts and Stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specs.
Technical Skills (Mandatory)
- Languages: COBOL, JCL, CICS.
- Database: DB2 (Stored Procedures, SQL), VSAM.
- Tools: CA7 (Scheduling), Endevor or Changeman (Version Control), File-Aid, XPEDITER (Debugging).
- Methodology: Knowledge of SDLC and Agile/Scrum.
