Release Manager

Remote (PST)

$50/hr on C2C // $45/hr on W2

Must Have Skills –

Skill 1 – Yrs of Exp – Release management, Kafka

Skill 2 – Yrs of Exp –GIT Lab/GIT codes

Skill 3 – Yrs of Exp – CI/CD pipeline

Skill 4 – Yrs of Exp – co-ordinate between network, development & other teams

to work with change management teams

Mandatory: Release Management, Devops, Software Deployment, Scripting

Optional: Salesforce, Kafka, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment

Summary/Objective

Responsible for the release management process and coordination of activities involved with the application’s CI/CD execution.

Ownership of the progress, quality and timely delivery from the teams under the release management functional area.

Track dependencies for successful deployment and delivery.

Responsible for supporting the team in their understanding of release requirements and processes.

This role is an innovator who constantly seeks continuous improvement and facilitates high performing teams.

Essential Functions

· Runs the software deployment planning and delivery process

· Properly align release components and teams regarding scheduling and dependencies

· Work collaboratively with all participants in software development projects and is supportive of developers and testers as they set up their build dev/test environments.

· Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality

· Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes

· Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required

· Maintains the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.

· Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews

· Continually work towards making improvements in the release process

· Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

· 3 years of previous release and/or project management experience, (Solid understanding of release and project management principles)

· 3+ years of experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development

· General knowledge of cloud systems and cloud release processes

· Experience with DevOps processes, tasks and tools

· Familiarity with scripting (I.e. shell, python)

· Familiarity with unstructured databases(Kafka)

· Familiar with coding concepts – light coding is expected, scripting and automation

· Enforcement of policies and procedures

· Technical documentation skills

· Strong organizational skills

· Ability to view a process and recognize deviations

· Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle

· Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion

· Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills

· Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must

· Experience with distributed Agile teams

· Exposure to Salesforce (preferred)
