Job Description:
• We are looking for an experienced Kafka Platform Engineer to manage and support our Confluent Kafka infrastructure.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, configuring, securing, and scaling Kafka clusters to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deploy, configure, and maintain Confluent Kafka clusters in production environments.
• Perform upgrades, patching, and capacity planning with minimal downtime.
• Manage authentication, authorization, and access controls for secure platform operations.
• Monitor cluster performance and health using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cluster-related issues (broker outages, replication lag, etc.).
• Automate recurring operational tasks using Python or Bash scripts.
• Collaborate with teams to support product expansion and ensure platform scalability.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of Kafka administration experience (Confluent Kafka preferred).
• Strong expertise in Kafka upgrades, configuration, and production troubleshooting.
• Solid background in Linux system administration.
• Scripting proficiency in Python and/or Bash.
• Working knowledge of Prometheus and Grafana for observability.
• Confluent Kafka certification is a plus.
