Job Description – Mobile Lead & Architect(Manager Level)

Location: Palo Alto, CA – Onsite – Only PST or MST Time Zone

Contract

We are seeking a visionary Mobile Development Lead / Architect to drive the technical strategy and execution of enterprise-scale mobile applications. This role will lead cross-functional teams across iOS and Android platforms, ensuring delivery of high-performance, scalable, and secure mobile solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

Define and drive the mobile architecture and long-term technical roadmap
Establish best practices, design patterns (MVVM), and shared frameworks across platforms
Ensure scalability, performance, and security of mobile applications
Team Leadership & Mentorship

Lead and mentor a team of ~10 mobile engineers
Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and support career development
Foster a culture of engineering excellence and innovation
Architecture & Design

Own the end-to-end SDLC for mobile applications
Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies (e.g., Kotlin Multiplatform, AI-assisted development)
Ensure modular, maintainable, and reusable architecture
Cross-functional Collaboration

Collaborate with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and Backend teams
Translate business requirements into technical solutions
Performance & Monitoring

Monitor app performance using tools like Firebase, Sentry
Optimize app startup time, memory usage, and battery efficiency across devices

Technical Skills

Android Development

Expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose
Strong knowledge of Coroutines, Flow
Dependency Injection using Dagger/Hilt
iOS Development

Expertise in Swift, SwiftUI
Experience with Combine and Swift Concurrency
Strong understanding of modular architecture
Architecture & DevOps

Experience with CI/CD tools: Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions
App deployment to App Store and Google Play Store
Data & APIs

Strong proficiency in REST and GraphQL APIs
Experience with Protocol Buffers
Knowledge of local storage: Room, SwiftData, Realm
Tools

Xcode, Android Studio
Git version control
Debugging tools like Charles Proxy, Flipper

Required Experience

8+ years in mobile application development
Minimum 3+ years in a leadership / Staff Engineer role
Proven experience delivering large-scale applications (100K+ DAU)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform
Exposure to AI-assisted development tools
Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
