Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Payment Tester / Payments QA Engineer with strong experience in banking and payment systems testing. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience testing payment gateways, card transactions, ISO 8583 messaging, APIs, and end-to-end payment processing workflows in a financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing for payment applications.
Validate credit/debit card transactions, authorization, settlement, reconciliation, and chargeback workflows.
Test payment interfaces involving Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, EMV, PCI-DSS, and ISO 8583 standards.
Execute testing for ACH, SWIFT, SEPA, RTP, UPI, NEFT, RTGS, and other payment rails.
Design and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test data for complex payment workflows.
Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or REST clients.
Validate database transactions and data integrity using SQL.
Identify, log, track, and retest defects using JIRA / ALM / Azure DevOps.
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and payment operations teams to understand requirements and resolve issues.
Support UAT, production validation, and post-release verification activities.
Required Skills

5+ years of experience in Payment Testing / Banking QA / FinTech QA.
Strong understanding of payment processing lifecycle (authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation).
Experience with ISO 8583 message formats and payment switch testing.
Knowledge of Visa, Mastercard, EMV, PCI-DSS, and card payment standards.
Hands-on experience with API testing (REST/SOAP).
Good SQL skills for backend validation.
Experience using JIRA, HP ALM, or Azure DevOps.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Skills

Automation experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Java, or Python.
Performance testing experience with JMeter or LoadRunner.
Experience with payment gateways such as Stripe, PayPal, Adyen, Cybersource, Fiserv, FIS, or TSYS.
Exposure to cloud-based payment platforms and microservices architecture.
