Role: UI/UX Designer
Location: New York (5 days onsite)

Scope of Service:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UI/UX design and development, with a passion for creating digital experiences that are visually engaging, intuitive, and user-friendly. The designer will play a key role in enhancing the overall student experience, providing strategic, design, and development guidance to project directors, implementation leads, Digital Transformation Project (DTP) teams, and division directors. This position ensures that user interface strategies and technical implementations align with overall project goals and business strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development Leadership:
Lead UI/UX design and development initiatives from concept to implementation.
Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, front-end developers, and educational stakeholders to deliver scalable, maintainable, and high-performance design systems.
Translate business and user requirements into functional design and front-end development solutions.
Oversee end-to-end UI/UX lifecycle including design, prototyping, development integration, and quality assurance.
UI/UX Design & Implementation:
Design responsive and accessible interfaces for student systems that align with institutional branding and enhance user satisfaction.
Develop wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
Incorporate user research, usability feedback, and data analytics into continuous design improvements.
Conduct usability testing and iterate based on findings to refine both UI and UX performance.
Ensure compliance with WCAG, ADA, and other accessibility standards.
UI/UX Development:
Implement and maintain design systems, reusable UI components, and style guides to ensure visual consistency.
Collaborate closely with developers to ensure seamless integration between UI/UX designs and backend systems.
Optimize front-end performance, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration:
Provide design and technical direction for UI/UX initiatives across multiple platforms and devices.
Mentor junior designers and front-end developers on design principles and UI best practices.
Stay current with emerging UI/UX technologies, development frameworks, and digital accessibility standards.
Participate in design and code reviews, offering constructive feedback to peers and developers.
Required Experience & Skills
Experience:
Proven experience in UI/UX design and development for educational, government, or corporate applications.
Strong background in business process improvement and data-driven design decision-making.
Experience providing strategic design and development guidance to senior leadership.
Hands-on involvement in translating complex business processes into intuitive, efficient digital experiences.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in design tools: Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch.
Front-end development proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility (WCAG, ADA), and cross-platform performance optimization.
Experience with version control (Git), design systems, and agile development environments.
Ability to evaluate and enhance user workflows and business processes through UI/UX solutions.
